ST. GEORGE — Parowan High Principal Kim Bailey has been recognized with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve as a Patriotic Employer. The surprise announcement came during an assembly with students Sept. 1.

Zach Tuttle, who served as an English teacher at PHS and now is the district’s security coordinator, said Bailey is an example of support when it comes to his work with service members, according to the Iron County School District. Bailey worked with Tuttle when deployment took him out of the classroom.
Bailey became emotional as he accepted the honor. He said his associations with many in the military mean a lot to him. He encouraged students to continue to support those who serve.
“It means so much to me to honor those who have given their all for us,” Bailey said as he accepted the award. “It’s because of their service that we can do what we do and love who we love and it’s because of them that we’re the land of the free.”
According to the organization’s website:
ESGR has served our country for more than 50 years, fostering a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States. These citizen warriors could not defend and protect us at home and abroad without the continued promise of meaningful civilian employment for themselves and their families.
