The Iron County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to 1600 E 7200 North shortly before noon after receiving reports of a two-vehicle collision, Sheriff’s Lt. Dave Mitchell wrote in a news release.
A black Kia Rio reportedly traveling south behind a large truck “kicking up a cloud of dust.” The driver attempted to pass but did not see a northbound side-by-side, and they collided.
The Kia driver was uninjured, Mitchell wrote, but a man in the side-by-side sustained a laceration to his upper thigh. He was transported to St. George Regional Hospital via a Gold Cross Ambulance, and his current condition is unknown.
This report is based on statements from police, emergency personnel or other responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
