Della Ann (Bulloch) Bird

Aug. 20, 1941-June 21, 2023

Della Ann returned to the arms of her sweetheart, Edwin Bird, on June 21, 2023, in St. George, Utah.

Della was born on Aug. 20, 1941, to Charles Cram Bulloch and Grace Miller in Cedar City, Utah. The first six months of her life were spent at the family’s sheep camp with her four older siblings DeRoy Cottom “Pete,” Edwin Cram, Grant Miller and her sister Grace. They next moved to St. George, Utah, where they were raised by their hard-working and faithful single mother. Life was hard for their family, but Della focused on the blessings: swimming at the Veyo pool, roller skating, learning about cars from her older brothers and many Miller family parties where she loved playing with her cousins.

In 1957, she met and married her first husband Milton Park Sperry. Together they raised three amazing daughters Sylvia Ann, Debbie Lee and Vicki Lynn. They were married for 20 years.

In 1989, Della married the love of her life, Edwin Gold Bird. Ed spoiled her and gave her a beautiful life filled with vacation memories, Jazz games and many family gatherings. Their home in Wanship, Utah, was always open where they made everyone feel welcome and loved.

Della was known for her generosity, wisdom and impeccable advice, her love of a good slot machine, her eye for beautiful antiques and her extensive jewelry collection. She never met a dog who didn’t adore her. For two generations, Della carried on her mother’s noodle recipe for her family to enjoy.

Della is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Jim Jarrett, Dennis Downey and Reid Jarrett; her brothers Ed Bulloch, Grant (Madlyne) Bulloch and her sister Grace Slack; 29 grandchildren, 48  great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Della is preceded in Death by her parents, her husband (Edwin Gold Bird), her Brother (DeRoy “Pete” Bulloch) and brother-in-law (Bill Slack), her sister-in-law (Jane Bulloch), two grandsons (Jeff Bird and Tommy Young) and one granddaughter (Shawna Andrus).

Interment will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.

Family and friends are invited to share tributes online. Arrangements and memorial tree planting by Serenity Funeral Home of Southern Utah, 435-986-9100.
