CONTRIBUTED CONTENT — Get ready for a weekend of high-octane action as Utah’s own Monster Truck Family Tour comes to the Cedar City Arena on Friday and Saturday, June 16-17. Fans of all ages can witness these 12,000-pound behemoths compete in freestyle, racing and best trick events.
“We’re thrilled to bring the Monster Truck Family Tour to Cedar City,” tour organizer Lloyd Behunin said. “Our team has been working hard to put together an exciting show that’s sure to thrill fans of all ages.”
The Monster Truck Family Tour is a family-friendly, fun-filled spectacle unlike anything Iron County has seen before, Behunin said. Both kids and adults love hearing the roar of the 1,400-horsepower engines as the skilled drivers smash cars and launch into gravity-defying stunts. It’s 2 1/2 hours of pure entertainment.
In addition to the monster truck events, the tour is also offering side-by-side racing competitions for fans ready to show off their own driving skills. And for those who want to experience the thrill of a monster truck ride, the Freedom Rider truck will be offering rides for just $10.
Doors open at 5 p.m. Ticketholders can get up close and personal with the trucks and meet the drivers during the pre-show track party. The main event will start at 7 p.m.
“We’re also excited to offer online ticket sales for this event,” Behunin said. “Fans can purchase their tickets in advance and avoid the lines on event day.”
General admission tickets cost $21 for adults and $11 for kids ages 3-11. For $35, the VIP experience includes a monster truck ride, a hot dog and drink, an exclusive event poster and designated seating.
“Our biggest thing is that we try to be affordable,” Behunin said. “What most tours charge, we cut that in half.”
The Monster Truck Family Tour makes stops across Utah throughout the year. Next, they’ll be visiting Tooele on July 14-15.
Along with working as event promoters, Behunin and his team own and drive their monster trucks. The lineup features American Soldier, Geronimo, Dragon Slayer, Zeus and the Freedom Rider, a rolling tribute to the greatest country on Earth.
