What’s Going There: A buzzing beehive of new business activity along Sunset Boulevard, Bluff Street

ST. GEORGE — Piles of lumber, tractors, workers walking around in hard hats – welcome to Southern Utah. The area’s growth is seemingly unstoppable, with buildings springing up everywhere you look.

In this episode of “What’s Going There,” Southern Utah’s show about developments and businesses in the works, Tom Callister with Linx Commercial Real Estate introduced a new retail center serving the west side of St. George. New construction is the new norm along Sunset Boulevard, and this complex will soon welcome Yogurtland and Casa de Ochoa, a Mexican restaurant, among other tenants.

Across the street, Express Chicken is getting ready to open. Just down the road, The Habit Burger is already grilling up delicious burgers, sandwiches and snacks with their signature SoCal spin. Wingstop and the long-awaited Chipotle are right next door.

“People have been screaming for new restaurants on this side of town,” Callister said. “Folks, you’re finally getting it.”

Callister also visited the Bluff Street exit of I-15, where The Crack Shack is about to open their first Southern Utah location. At the forefront of the fried chicken sandwich craze, they emphasize locally raised, free-living fowl and invite customers to taste the difference. LongHorn Steakhouse’s first location in the St. George area will soon be opening near the exit as well.

“Restaurants are popping out of the woodwork,” he said. “Southern Utah, I hope you’re hungry, and I hope you stay tuned.”
