The incident happened approximatley 4:50 p.m. at the intersection of N. Bluff Street and 500 North.

A 23-year-old woman was traveling southbound on the sidewalk on the east side of Bluff Street riding an e-bike when a Can-Am all-terrain vehicle turning right onto N. Bluff Street resulted in a collision, said St George Police Department Sergeant Tyrell Bangerter.

The Can-Am, driven by an adult man traveling westbound on 500 North had attempted to make a right turn. The front end of the Can-Am struck the bicyclist riding the e-bike.

“The cyclist entered the crosswalk and did not yield to the vehicle that had the green light,” Bangerter said.

Bangerter said multiple witnesses, as well as the driver of the Can-Am, verified that the light was green for the all-terrain vehicle. First responders were seen at the incident scene holding up a blanket for privacy while medical services were performed.

Police shut down 500 North at the scene of the collision, N. Bluff Street remained open for traffic flow.

After preparations for transportation, the patient was loaded into a waiting Gold Cross Ambulance and transported to St. George Regional Hospital with serious lower leg injuries, the officer stated.

The all-terrain vehicle driver was uninjured. St. George Fire Department provided assistance at the scene.

This report is based on statements from police and first responders and may not contain the full scope of findings.
