Crowned as Miss Rodeo America 2023, she has carried on the legacy of her cowgirl bloodlines as a member of the Cowgirls Historical Foundation while working for the Arizona Farm Bureau and Cowboy Lifestyle Network, according to a press release issued by Washington County Fair officials.

Prior to being selected, the 22-year-old daughter of Don and Shanda Riggs represented the Grand Canyon State as Miss Rodeo Arizona 2022. She served her 18-month church mission in Brazil, Arizona and Oklahoma, and is currently a student at Arizona State University pursuing a degree in journalism.

Riggs enjoys teaching horsemanship lessons, as well as volunteering as an instructor teaching English and Portuguese to Brazilians in weekly classes. Her passion for “Kicking Up Kindness” is reflected in The Kindness Journal Podcast. Riggs encourages everyone to perform acts of kindness in their daily lives.

“We’re thrilled to have Miss Rodeo America Kennadee Riggs at the Washington County Fair Rodeo,” Washington County Fair Director Susi Lafaele said in the news release. “She exemplifies America’s youth that continue to advocate not only for agriculture and the sport of rodeo, but also the western way of life. Kennadee will participate in the rodeo grand entry by bringing in the United States flag during the national anthem.”

The Washington County Fair kicks off with a junior rodeo on Thursday, April 13, then a two-night rodeo on Friday and Saturday, April 14-15, with a special needs rodeo on Saturday morning.

The fun continues with a parade on Tuesday, April 18, and the fair officially opens on Wednesday, April 19.

This year’s fair will feature country music artist Chris Janson as the concert headliner, the annual demolition derby, food trucks and fun for the whole family. For a complete schedule of events or to purchase tickets to the rodeo, visit the Washington County Fair’s official website.
