Arlene Ida Hart

Arlene Ida Hart, age 88, of Washington City, Utah passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, surrounded by loving family in St. George, Utah.

Arlene was born in Los Angeles, California, and raised in Compton, California, where she graduated from Compton High School in 1952. Following high school, Arlene remained in Compton where she began her early adult life and married Billy Christopher in January 1954 after he returned from serving in the U.S. Air Force.

Arlene and Billy eventually set roots in Brea, California, and raised their three children Mark, Lynece and Lori. After 25 years of marriage, Arlene and Billy divorced. During this time Arlene continued to work in sales and traveled, living in many areas before settling in Canyon Lake, California, where she met her late husband Roger Hart, while selling real estate. Arlene and Roger married in 1996 and built their home together in Washington City, Utah, in 2006 after years of travel.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Myrl Rawley, as well as her older brother Dean Rawley and younger brother Gary Rawley. Arlene was also preceded in death by her husband Roger Hart.

Survivors include children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; son Mark Christopher, granddaughter Andrea (Ty) Johnson and great-grandchildren Waldon and London; granddaughter Brenda (Ryan) Christopher; granddaughter Erica (Corrie) Lindsay and great-granddaughter Dahlia; grandson Matthew Christopher and grandson Aaron Christopher; daughter Lynece (Bill) Moore, granddaughter Amy (Wes) Chrisman and great-granddaughter Madison; daughter Lori (Jim) Ziemer, granddaughter Jennifer (Kevin) Ziemer and great-grandchildren Drake, Devin and Payton; and grandson Jimmy (Jennifer) Ziemer and great-grandchildren Hudson, Emerson and Amelia; step-daughter Michelle (Adam) Hall and step-grandchildren Taylor, Brooke, Dakota and Morgan.

Arlene had a love for travel, golf, ski and pickleball and was an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Arlene and Roger were happily married until his passing in December 2020. They had a passion for traveling the world, visiting countries such as England, France, Portugal, Spain, Germany the Panama Canal and many Caribbean islands. In 2001 Arlene and Roger lived full-time traveling the United States and Canada for four years, joined often by their grandchildren. Arlene had a full life always traveling and making memories spent with her friends and family.

Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 881 S. River Road, St. George, Utah, on Saturday, March 4, at 2 p.m. A viewing will be held from 1-1:45 p.m. Interment will be at the Washington City Cemetery, 399 Park View Drive, Washington City, Utah. A luncheon will be served at the church after the burial.
