Darrell Evan Blake, 76, passed away Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023. He was born Feb. 21, 1946 in St. George, Utah to Virginia Latimer and Cecil Blake. He married Kathleen McAllister, Sept. 1, 1967, in the St. George Temple. Darrell lived his entire life in St. George, where he attended Dixie High and Dixie Junior College.
He was a cattle rancher and farmer, which he dearly loved. He also enjoyed riding horses, four-wheeling with family and friends, eating good food, traveling the world and serving in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As a young man, he served a mission for the church in England. He also served in the National Guard, was a patriot and loved his country.
He is survived by Kathleen McAllister Blake (wife); Children: Suzanne Blake Valentine (Gary);,Cary Evan Blake (Brenda), Derick Cecil Blake (Ronda), Jason John Blake (ALee), Lana Blake Parker (Jeremy), Alex Benjamin Blake (Marjorie); 30 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one surviving sibling: Ronald Blake (Shirley).
Funeral services will be Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, at 12 p.m. with a viewing prior from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 1762 S. River Road, St. George, Utah, 84790. A viewing will be held at the same location on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m. Internment will take place in the Tonaquint Cemetery.
