The Yard Dr. has been beautifying homes throughout the greater St. George area since 1999. As a landscape contractor, owner Josh Cooper and his team design and install residential and commercial projects of all sizes. Their goal is to listen, educate and work with every customer to create landscapes that will be functional and aesthetically pleasing for years to come.

“We look at the space and how the client wants to prioritize using that space,” Cooper said. “We have the knowledge and experience to help our clients evolve their vision and bring it to life.”

The Yard Dr. specializes in landscape makeovers and creating custom landscape designs in a variety of styles and themes, including Mediterranean, Spanish, French Country, Tropical and Southwestern. Their work has been featured in several editions of the St. George Area Parade of Homes real estate tour and on the reality show “MTV Cribs.”

Along with new construction and complete makeovers, The Yard Dr. offers an extensive variety of residential and commercial landscaping and hardscaping services. The company installs lawns, plants, sprinkler systems, artificial turf, water features, flame features, in-ground trampolines, putting greens, retaining walls, courtyard walls, accent lighting, curbing, pavers, walkways, patios and more.

As the community keeps growing, more Southern Utahns have started looking for landscape designs that are water-friendly and easy to maintain, and artificial turf is gaining popularity as an alternative to traditional lawns. With a natural look and silky-soft feel, this versatile solution appears lush and well-kept through both cold spells and heat waves. There’s virtually no upkeep, even in areas with significant foot traffic.

The Yard Dr. uses Majestic 70, one of the most realistic products on the market. Chosen for its superior quality, Majestic 70 features a longer grass blade and a more dense pile of 70 ounces per square yard. The grass fibers, made from 100% polyethylene monofilament, have a unique “C” shape for added durability. Customers can even make it look freshly “mowed.”

“It’s better than real grass,” Cooper said. “It’s very appealing, not just looks-wise, but in feel and softness, too. It’s cooler to the touch than artificial turf of the past.”

The Yard Dr. works closely with the Washington County Water Conservancy District to provide customers with applicable rebates and discounts whenever available. These offers are designed to save home and business owners money while helping to reduce water usage.

Currently, the Washington County Water Conservancy District is offering a rebate of $2 for every square foot of existing lawn or grass that home and business owners replace with water-efficient landscaping. The offer is valid for a maximum of 5,000 square feet, after which the rebate amount drops to $1 per square foot. Property owners must replace a minimum of 300 square feet of lawn or grass to qualify.

To claim the rebate, property owners are required to submit an application to the Washington County Water Conservancy District and schedule a pre-conversion inspection prior to starting any landscaping work. Another inspection will be scheduled after the project is complete to verify that the new landscaping meets water-efficient guidelines.

The Yard Dr. provides free quotes to help home and business owners start planning their conversion projects. Additionally, the company is offering discounts of up to $1,000 on landscaping services for customers participating in the rebate program.

“We want to help you save money by saving water,” Cooper said.

To schedule a free quote, call The Yard Dr. at 435-669-0733 and leave a voicemail with your name, address and a brief description of the landscape project you’re planning.
