Lane LaMar Ronnow

April 7, 1936-Nov. 28, 2022

Lane LaMar Ronnow of St. George, Utah, passed away peacefully on Nov. 28, 2022, at age 86. He was born April 7, 1936, in the center of the known world, Panaca, Nevada, to Daniel Jorgen Ronnow and Dorothy Price Ronnow.

Lane graduated from Lincoln County High School in 1954. He attended the College of Southern Utah from 1954-56 and 1958-59. He served a mission in Toronto, Canada, for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1956-58.  He continued his education at the University of Utah from 1959-70.

Lane was a talented basketball player, performer and writer during his school years; he was in too many clubs to list. In his life, he was a farmer, a boy scout, a pilot, a news anchor and a wonderful public speaker. He wrote poetry, gave great lessons and talks in church and was always one to strike up a conversation with strangers. He studied law, worked in education and ran for many public offices.

In 1983 Lane married Paula Linford in the Salt Lake Temple, instantly gaining a family with her four beautiful girls: Teri, Lori, Jodi and Cami. In 1984 they were blessed with a son, James. They were together in life until Paula’s passing in July 2022 and are together again in heaven.

Lane was a loving father and husband; he was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He lived his life serving others, which he claimed was selfish because it made him feel good.

He is survived by his sister Marilyn, his daughters Teri Gardner, Lori and husband Chris Garrett, Jodi and husband Shad Campbell, Cami and husband Joe Anderson, his son James and wife Venessa Ronnow; as well as his many grandchildren: Autumn Thompson, Jamison and Alexandra Bailess, Brandon and Emma Garrett, Riley, Owen, Nya, and Ethan Campbell, and Tayler, Caleb and Adelyn Anderson.
