Douglas Lovell Brook

Douglas Lovell Brook, 72, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022. He was born on April 3, 1950, in Payson, Utah, to Lovell Squire Brook and Lois Evelyn Elmer. In 1969 he served an LDS mission in the Central United States. Upon returning home he studied art at Brigham Young University. On July 14, 1976, he married his dream girl, Nancy Strong.

He believed his family to be his greatest legacy and is honored in being the namesake of six of his grandchildren. He had a deep love for God and all things good. Known to many in quiet strength. He will be greatly missed.

Douglas is survived by his wife Nancy Brook, his children Heidi Holt, Squire Brook, Rachel Jacob, Noah Brook, Caralyn Brook, Celeste Caplin and Mason Brook, 31 grandchildren and his sister Dorian Tucket.

He is preceded in death by sons Phil Brook and Douglas Brook and sister Val Brook.

He loved his work as a stonemason and worked beside his family for nearly all his life in that capacity. Homes all over Southern Utah and Utah County are monuments of his life’s work.

A viewing will take place on Friday, Nov. 11, from 6-8 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Diamond Valley Stake Center, 1784 Diamond Valley Drive, St. George, UT 84770. 

Funeral services will be Saturday, Nov. 12, at 11 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, also at the Diamond Valley Stake Center.

Interment will take place at Pine Valley Cemetery.

Friends and family who are unable to attend in person are welcome to view services remotely online.
