Troy D. Matthews, age 50, passed away in St. George, Utah on Oct. 29, 2022. Troy was born to Deanna and LeRoy Matthews on Dec. 30, 1971. Troy entered this world on a snowy December night surrounded by love and family. He spent his early years growing up in Sandy and Riverton, Utah, with his parents and his three brothers Shawn, Todd, and Laine doing what he loved most: fishing, riding dirt bikes and just being outdoors.

He graduated from Bingham High School in 1990. After graduating, Troy went into excavation and eventually found his home at Cazier Excavating where he dedicated 30 years of service. Troy and Rashael met in September 1994 and were soon married on Dec. 7, 1996. They settled and created a home in Riverton, Utah, for 21 years where they raised three beautiful children, Kyler (27), Makaylee (23), Kinley (18).

He is survived by his wife Rashael Matthews , his Mother DeAnna Matthews and his children Kyler, Makaylee (Isabella) and Kinley (Carson). He was preceded in death by his father LeRoy Matthews.

Friends and Family are invited to a viewing on Friday, Nov. 4, 2022, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home, 1316 S. 400 East, Suite A-5, St. George, Utah, 84790.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022 at 11 a.m., at Virgin Town Chapel, 114 S. Mill Street, Virgin, Utah 84779. There will be a viewing prior to services at the Virgin Town Chapel from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Graveside services will held at the Virgin city cemetery following the viewing and services.
