CEDAR CITY — One driver was cited for failure to yield following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of 200 North and Main Street in Cedar City on Halloween evening.

The incident, which happened shortly after 6 p.m. Monday, involved a white Buick SUV and a white Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.

Cedar City Police Sgt. Justin Ludlow said the SUV driver was heading north on Main Street when the vehicle was struck by the eastbound pickup truck, which reportedly had the right of way.

Only minor injuries were reported, said Ludlow, noting that one person sustained a bloody nose but nobody was taken to the hospital.

The driver of the SUV received the citation, Ludlow added.

Both vehicles sustained moderate-to-heavy front-end damage.

Traffic was impacted for nearly an hour while the scene was investigated and cleared. There was a fair amount of pedestrian traffic in the area at the time, as costumed trick-or-treaters already were making their rounds.

Cedar City Police officers and Cedar City Fire Department personnel responded to the incident.

This report is based on preliminary statements from law enforcement officials and may not contain the full scope of findings.
