Gisela Annemarie Delling Durnian

Gisela A Durnian, 85, passed on Oct. 21, 2022, at her assisted living residence. She was born on Jan. 1, 1937, to Paul Alfred Delling and Irmgard Annemarie Bohnsack Delling in Bombay, India. She was married to Fred Kenneth Henning (Hoenigsberg); they were married in Coral Gables, Florida, on July 9, 1960.

Gisela was raised in Laboe, Germany, and went to school to become a chemist (apothecary). She was sponsored to come to the U.S. in her early 20s. When she came to the U.S. she worked for NASA’s Cape Canaveral in Florida as a chemist until meeting her husband Fred. They traveled all over Europe and had a short marriage due to his death in 1964. 

After Fred’s passing, Gisela moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. There she worked for the Sun newspaper, Riviera and Aladdin hotels. 

She ran her own restaurant Mug & Munch 1987-1994. In 2004 Gisela moved with her family to Washington, Utah. Gisela semi-retired lived on Main Street in Washington and worked for Nissan market from 2005 to 2009 until the store closed.

Gisela is survived by her son Mark Henning and grandsons Bryce and Brandon Henning of Washington, Utah. 

Her wishes were simple: There will be no funeral or viewing.

Gisela and her family would like to thank all the people who made her feel at home here in Washington and Hurricane and let them know how special they were in her life.
