WASHINGTON CITY — Traffic will continue to be detoured at the intersection of Green Springs Drive and Buena Vista Boulevard, but the disruption will be temporary.
The intersection will be closed on Friday from 7 p.m. to approximately 7 a.m. on Saturday.
Construction crews will add restraints to the project’s underground pipes. Washington City Councilman Kurt Ivie said the construction will likely finish earlier than 7 a.m. on Saturday, and he doesn’t anticipate any other closures from this project for now.
The intersection originally was closed from 7 p.m. Thursday through 4 a.m. Friday, as crews were conducting underground infrastructure construction connected to the Maverik station that will be going up on this intersection in Washington City.
City officials encourage drivers to use Cactus Lane, located northeast of Green Springs Drive, as a detour around the construction project during the closure hours.
Ivie expressed his excitement for the project’s progress, saying the upcoming Maverick will serve the city extremely well at its location off Interstate 15 (Exit 10).
This construction is part of Washington City’s ongoing economic expansion, similar in purpose to other roadway construction completed earlier this year.
Updated July 12, 3:08 p.m.: Adds Friday-Saturday overnight closure.
