March 28, 1945-June 2, 2022

Ronald Alden Lee died on June 2, 2022, from health complications after being taken to the St. George Regional Hospital. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. 

Ron was born in St. George, Utah on March 28, 1945, to Willard Alden Lee and Evelyn Lucretia Busby. He was the oldest of seven children and is preceded in death by his wife, Raola (Jepson) Lee, brother Sheldon Wayne Lee and granddaughter Becca. He is survived by his five children, 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. 

Ron grew up in a little pioneer home on the corner of 500 E St. George Blvd. Though he lived elsewhere for a time, St. George was always “home” for Ron. He moved back in the early ’80s and began building his reputation as an architect within the community. Numerous buildings and homes around St. George were designed by Ron, including the LDS Chapel on 300 S 700 E, several homes in the Kayenta area and Spilsbury Mortuary on Bluff Street. 

Ron served in the Northwestern States Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 

He married Raola Jepson June 28 1968, in the Saint George LDS temple. 

Though Ron rarely spoke of the things he witnessed while serving in the Army during the Vietnam War, he was always very proud to have served his country and enjoyed attending the various gatherings put on by the American Legion and the VA. He was also proud to be the architect of the VA home in Ivins which was one of Ron’s last projects before retiring.

A viewing will be held Friday, June 10, 2022, 9-10:30 a.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George. The viewing will be followed by a short service and then guests may accompany family to the Washington City Cemetery for the interment.
