Kevin William Spilker

Dec. 9, 1952-March 14, 2022

Kevin William Spilker, age 69, passed away on March 14, 2022, due to a chronic illness. He was born on Dec. 9, 1952, in Holladay, Utah, to Joyce and Chris Spilker. Kevin moved to St. George in 1979. He then moved to Delta in 1986 and then to Ely, Nevada, for a short stop only to return to St. George. 

He learned the carpentry trade from his father Chris and became a general contractor while living in St. George. After leaving St. George he was a painter in Delta and a prison guard in Ely.

Kevin loved animals, especially dogs. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and felt a special connection with nature. Kevin was very talented with woodworking and made several furniture pieces for his family. He also loved photography and music; he played guitar. He also loved motorcycles. Kevin is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; his membership brought him comfort.

He will be remembered by all who knew him for his gentle spirit, sense of humor and his gratitude to all despite the many hardships he faced in life. He was an example of humility, acceptance and having unconditional regard for all.

Kevin is survived by his father Chris, his siblings Marsha, Clark, Janna, Chuck and Mike, his daughter Stacy, her children, Sterling, Hailey and Kylah, his son JW and his wife Sarah, and their children, Samantha, Felicity and Luke, and his grandchildren Cenya, Coven and Cemree.

He was preceded in death by his son Cody and Kevin’s mother Joyce, his “guardian angel.” During the last years of his life Kevin was lovingly and professionally cared for by the staff at Seasons Healthcare. 

A visitation and funeral service will be held on Monday, March 21, at the Stake Center at 500 W Bluff St., St. George.  Visitation will run 10-10:45 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m.
