Coaches pick all-Region 10 basketball teams; state champion Thunder and Warriors collect accolades

ST. GEORGE — Local boys and girls high school basketball coaches got together after the season ended and selected their all-Region 10 teams.

Honors keep coming for the 4A state champion boys at Snow Canyon and girls at Desert Hills. Several individuals from the other Region 10 teams were also recognized.

Canyon Media released its all-Region 10 selections shortly after the state tournament ended Feb. 23.

The following is the list of coaches’ choices for the all-Region 10 teams.

Coaches’ all-Region 10 boys basketball team

Lyman Simmons earned Most Valuable Player recognition. The junior became the all-time leading scorer at Snow Canyon High School during his MVP season.

Dixie’s standout senior Bronson Barben was named Defensive Most Valuable Player.

First team all-Region 10: Owen Mackay, Snow Canyon; Hudson Hawes, Crimson Cliffs; Zab Santana, Cedar; Kyle Lemke, Dixie; Bowen Hammer, Snow Canyon.

Second team all-Region 10: Jordan Eaton, Crimson Cliffs; Grant Carter, Dixie; Lincoln Holmes, Desert Hills; Aaron Munson, Cedar; Griffen Shepherd, Pine View.

Third team all-Region 10: Weston Larson, Hurricane; Kruz Gardner, Hurricane; Kaleb Anderson-Foreman, Snow Canyon; Will Warner, Snow Canyon; Jordan Roberts, Dixie.

Honorable Mention: Kean Webb, Dixie; Jackson McKone, Crimson Cliffs; Nash Schroeder, Pine View; Boston Holbrook, Desert Hills; Eli Allred, Desert Hills; Travis Matthews, Crimson Cliffs; Zac Call, Snow Canyon; Risko Brooks, Dixie; Ty Harrison, Cedar.

First team all-Region 10: Enid Vaifanua, Desert Hills; Alivia Cluff, Desert Hills; Olivia Hamlin, Snow Canyon; Kealah Faumuina, Dixie; Braylee Peterson, Cedar.

Second team all-Region 10: Natalie Olson, Snow Canyon; Haylee Campbell, Cedar; Samiyah Jones, Crimson Cliffs; Ellie Norton, Pine View; Morgan Stout, Hurricane.

Honorable Mention: Sedelle Springer, Desert Hills; Lainee Leavitt, Snow Canyon; Hali Smith, Dixie; Avery Gustin, Pine View; Emma Jensen, Pine View; Madi Slack, Hurricane; Brooklyn Winget, Crimson Cliffs.
