CEDAR CITY — A driver sustained minor injuries when she rear-ended another car on Cedar City’s Main Street Thursday afternoon, police said.
The incident, which reportedly happened shortly after 4 p.m. at approximately 650 N. Main Street, involved three vehicles: a white Honda Accord, a light silver Nissan Versa and a white Subaru Forester.
Cedar City Police Officer Justin Bice said all three cars were heading south on Main Street when one of the drivers in front of the Honda abruptly slowed down. The Honda driver was unable to stop in time and collided with the rear end of the Nissan, which in turn made it go forward until it struck the back bumper of the Subaru.
Each of the vehicles had an adult female driver as its only occupant, Bice added. The Honda driver reportedly was shaken up and had minor injuries; she was evaluated by Gold Cross Ambulance personnel at the scene. Neither of the other drivers reported any injuries, he added.
The Honda sustained moderate damage to its front end, while the Nissan had minor damage at both its rear and front ends. Damage to the Subaru appeared to be superficial.
Bice said at the scene that the Honda driver would be cited for following too closely.
This report is based on preliminary information provided by law enforcement and may not contain the full scope of findings.
