Peggy Ann Cox

Peggy Ann Cox, 87, passed away peacefully at her home in St. George, Utah, on April 17, 2023. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Feb. 3, 1936. Her parents were Pierson William Miller and Alice Anna Hoffmann. Peggy was raised in Cincinnati then moved to the Ohio State campus, then to Phoenix, Arizona, Hawaii, Lake Oswego, Oregon, and then finally St. George.

Peggy was an amazing artist/muralist and interior designer. She loved to paint murals and has in her own home over 136 paintings and 15 wall murals. She was also an accomplished piano and organ player and loved playing hymns in the Mesa, Arizona, Portland, Oregon, and St. George, Utah, LDS Temple chapels for many years all while never learning to read music. She loved playing them in her own style. Her other love was baking. She really loved making cookies and brownies for the special people in her life including doctors, nurses, neighbors and friends, ward members and family. She loved entertaining and gave many big parties throughout the years, always with lots of food.

Peggy was active in her wards and held many beloved church callings through the years. These include Ward, Stake and Regional callings as well as an LDS mission at the Church Family History Library in St. George.

She is survived by her second husband and love of her life Don Cox, Terry Michael Wilder (son), Randy Allen Wilder (son), Kimberly Anne Wilder-Harris (daughter), Jennifer Jean Wilder (daughter), Mary Margaret Bross (sister) and her beautiful 29 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

Peggy was predeceased by her father Pierson William Miller, mother Alice Anna Hoffmann and sisters Fern Robinson and Helen Hughs as well as her grandson Gabriel Mark Harris.

The family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses who made life comfortable for her. Thanks to family members and friends for the love they gave her but most of all, her husband Don of the last 34 years. He made every day of her life beautiful in every way. They cherished each other and their time together from the first moment they met and fell in love at first sight. Peggy will love him forever and will joyously be waiting for him to join her in the next estate where they can once again be reunited together forever.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 29, at 11 a.m. at the Bloomington Hills 8th Ward Chapel located at 1222 E Brigham Road, St. George. A viewing will be held prior to services from 10-10:45 a.m. at the same location. Interment will be at the Tonaquint Cemetery following services.
