Settlers Point Luxury RV Resort is nestled in the foothills of the Pine Valley Mountains in the growing community of Washington City. With numerous amenities and attention to detail, this location puts you in the center of all the must-see Southern Utah attractions.

“We have perfect access from a freeway standpoint,” general manager Beth Ellett said. “You can’t see us from the exit because of the hill they’ve cut out, which buffers all the freeway noise and makes it quiet. The guests really enjoy how quiet and nice it is.”

Resort amenities include a heated outdoor swimming pool and jacuzzi, a covered children’s playground, picnic areas and an outdoor fire pit, as well as a sand area for volleyball, spike ball and building sandcastles.

“The hot tub is probably the hottest thing we have right now,” owner Dean Terry said. “It’s always hopping in the evenings.”

Also included on the property are a pickleball court and basketball court along with sites to play horseshoes and cornhole. A seven-hole putting green is free to use, and propane refills are available. Free Wi-Fi can be found throughout the park.

Settlers Point also caters to family members of the four-legged variety. The property includes a dog wash and a dog park with obstacle activities and a fire hydrant-shaped fountain. Pet relief stations are found throughout the resort.

The resort clubhouse features gaming tables, kitchen facilities, a banquet room, a business center with printer access, a library and a piano. Guests are free to use a variety of board games and can enjoy two fireplaces and three big-screen TVs.

Need clean clothes after your red dirt adventures? Settlers Point has you covered with two modern laundry facilities. Also known for its immaculate restrooms and showers, guests will find access to these at the front of the property as well as the back area comfort station.

Terry, who’s almost 89 years old, said he has deep roots in land development across Washington County. His previous hotel experience includes building the Holiday Inn downtown – now the Red Lion – a 164-room hotel. He purchased 80 acres of property on Sunset Boulevard in 1950 for $200, which he has since turned into the Sunset Plaza shopping center.

As far as the property for the RV resort, he said he owned it for over 40 years before he developed it.

“It was natural because my wife and I wore out a motorhome traveling and cruising for years and years,” Terry said about opening an RV resort. “The need is here. We saved this area because of its proximity to the freeway, but also because of the quiet area it is.”

Whether you’re looking for activities such as hiking, swimming, mountain biking or golf or want to enjoy some much-needed downtime, Settlers Point is the place for your next family vacation or solo getaway. Fresh air with dramatic views that change with the seasons and a year-round commitment to courtesy and customer service are the hallmarks of every stay at family-friendly Settlers Point.
