Owner Rhoda Hammon created RB Tours with the mission of making LDS Church history accessible and affordable for teenagers and young adults seeking to learn more about their heritage. With qualified guides to accompany participants every step of the way, the company delivers a unique, immersive educational and spiritual experience for young believers.

“We want to help young people build a stronger testimony in Jesus Christ and Joseph Smith,” she said. “That’s the importance of knowing your history and where we come from.”

In 2018, the company’s founders set out to offer the graduating class of a local high school a hands-on religious education experience. That summer, RB Tours took its first journey across the nation, and a group of students, parents and teachers explored the monuments, historical sites and temples that witnessed the restoration of the gospel. Today, RB Tours remains dedicated to teaching LDS Church history and building faith with a testimony of Joseph Smith and his work.

The Early Saints Tour explores the lives of the saints in the early LDS Church. Participants will retrace their journey from its beginnings in Independence, Missouri, to Winter Quarters in Nebraska, the last major rest stop on their long trek west. Other notable sites include Liberty Jail, Adam-ondi-Ahman and Historic Nauvoo.

The Joseph Smith Tour celebrates the prophet, following the milestones of his life and work from the farm he grew up on to the Grandin Building, where the first copies of the Book of Mormon were printed and bound in 1829. Other notable sites include Smith’s birthplace in Vermont, the Sacred Grove and the Kirtland Temple.

Both tours leave from three convenient locations – St. George, Cedar City and Las Vegas – with weekly departure dates from May through August. Qualified guides will lead the way, mentor youth and provide select literature and cinema for an immersive historical journey.

Aubry, 17, said she had a blast learning about the origins of the LDS Church and was grateful for the opportunity to experience such a comprehensive tour at realistic pricing for a high school student.

“Every day of the trip strengthened my comprehension of church history,” she added. “The trip was organized in a way which allowed us to see the most relevant sights without feeling crowded or rushed. I always felt looked out for, and I always knew where I was supposed to be.”

“Having not been on very many tours myself, I appreciated how each day was planned from beginning to end as well as the general layout in the history format,” said James, 20. “Each place was expecting us, and the way was prepared to provide really a unique and personal experience even though a fair-sized group was with us.”

Although focused on young people, the tours are open to anyone interested in bolstering their faith, reinforcing their testimony and bringing history to life. Student pricing options are available, as well as discounted rates for adults interested in becoming a chaperone. To learn more or register for an upcoming tour, visit RBToursTravel.com
