The world lost a beacon of kindness and grace with the passing of Theivanai Arunachalam on July 15, 2024, in St George, Utah. She was born on Oct. 7, 1935, in Chennai, India, to Pichappan Periakkaruppan and Muthayee Annamalai.

Theivanai was a loving wife to R.M. Arunachalam and a cherished mother to Meenal Rhea, Usha Tuscano, Muthu Alletto and Sita Stevens. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family to embrace her 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.

A woman of many talents and passions, Theivanai found solace and happiness in the simple pleasures of life. Her love for cooking yielded countless memorable meals that brought together family and friends. Her skilled hands created intricate works of beauty through embroidery, while her green thumb was evident in the vibrant blooms of her garden.

Those who knew Theivanai will remember her warm smile, gentle words and unwavering love for those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, strength and unwavering faith that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Services to celebrate the life of Theivanai Arunachalam will be held on Saturday, July 27. A visitation will take place from 10-11 a.m. at the LDS Green Valley 4th Ward Meeting House located at 124 North Valley View Drive, St George, Utah, with the funeral service starting at 11 a.m.

Though she may no longer walk beside us, the memory of Theivanai will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of crossing paths with such a remarkable woman. May she rest in peace knowing she was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
