State Bank of Southern Utah has always been focused on the greater St. George area, having opened the first of its five Washington County branches over 30 years ago. Today, the bank is continually expanding its presence to better serve the community’s ever-growing population.

“This Washington Fields office represents our long-term commitment to continuing the refreshing difference of doing business with a true community bank,” president and CEO Eric Schmutz said. “Southern Utah is in our name, and meeting the needs of customers who live here is what we do best.”

Everyone is invited to the grand opening of the Washington Fields branch, located at 2961 E. Mall Drive in St. George, on Monday, June 17. A ribbon-cutting will be held at 9 a.m., followed by tours, prizes and food from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

State Bank of Southern Utah is also offering a special promotion to keep the party going. Through July 31, any new customer who opens a checking account in person at the Washington Fields branch will receive a $50 bonus in their account.

Additionally, the bank will donate $50 to the Switchpoint Community Resource Center for every qualifying account opened during the promotion. Switchpoint is a St. George-based nonprofit organization that acts as a stepping stone to independence for people experiencing homelessness.

“At our core, we try to put our customers first and make local decisions,” said Kaylee Cluff, the bank’s community relations and social media specialist. “With another branch, we open ourselves up to more opportunities to be involved in our community and reach a different area of Southern Utah.”

Offering personal and business banking services as well as loans, State Bank of Southern Utah has been the area’s local bank for 67 years and counting.

State Bank of Southern Utah operates more locations than any other financial institution in the area and has flourished by focusing on the needs of its customers. The bank’s mission is to empower individuals and businesses to take control of their financial destiny, thereby improving the quality of life for everyone in the community.

State Bank of Southern Utah broke ground on the Washington Fields branch last spring. It’s the bank’s 17th and newest location.

“What you will notice in our newest branch is a modern, friendly atmosphere, complete with leading-edge technology,” Schmutz said. “But most importantly is the consistency found in our down-to-Earth, common-sense employees who can assist you with all your banking needs. Drop by and visit our newest office here in Washington Fields or any State Bank office and experience the difference of hometown banking.”
