Multiple fire crews from the Hurricane Valley Fire District responded to the area of 1019 West and 200 South where a brush fire was reported just after 8:30 p.m. in the Gould Wash, according to a social media post from the fire district.

“Initial reports from dispatch stated that there were multiple structures threatened,” the post states.

Units arrived at the scene within 6 minutes of the call and were able to keep the fire from spreading to nearby homes. The fire is estimated to have been a quarter-acre in size and was extinguished by 9:15 p.m.

Eight of the Hurricane Valley Fire District’s fire units responded to the fire and began to be released from the scene around 9:20 p.m. Hurricane City Police also responded to the incident.

No injuries were reported in connection to the fire.

“The investigation of the fire is complete and it was started by juveniles who were down in the wash,” the fire district’s post states.
