Robert Angus Cannon

Robert Angus Cannon, age 73, passed away peacefully on Feb. 17, 2024, in St. George, Utah.

Bob was born on May 29, 1950, in Seattle, Washington, to George and Lois Cannon. He married Cheri Marich in St. George on Sept. 1, 2005.

Bob grew up in Washington, California and Utah. He graduated from Thousand Oaks High School and attended BYU. He also served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Canada.

Bob was loved and respected throughout his career. He began as a Provo police officer and then a Washington County deputy sheriff. His public service included road deputy, court bailiff,and shift supervisor at Purgatory Correctional Facility, eventually achieving the rank of lieutenant.

Bob loved the outdoors and spent time camping, hunting, jeeping and riding his motorcycle and ATV. He loved his dogs. He was known for his sense of humor, big heart and courage.

Bob was adored by his family. He is survived by his wife Cheri, daughters Shannon George (Colin) and Rhondda Bagley (Tyson), brothers George Cannon, Hugh Cannon (Bonnie), Erik Cannon (Camille), Chris Cannon (Tina), sister Laurel Rogers (Lynn) and brother Don Cannon (Lori). He was preceded in death by his parents George and Lois Cannon and his sister Ann Cannon.

Cremation services will be provided by Metcalf Mortuary in St. George. The family wishes to thank Sydney and Kris Kitzmiller and St. George Regional Hospital for their tender care.
