Laura Kay Frei

Nov. 5, 1946-Feb. 7, 2024

Laura Kay Frei, 77, passed peacefully on Feb. 7 in her St. George home, surrounded by family, after a yearlong battle with peripheral artery disease. She was born Nov. 5, 1946, in St. George, Utah, to Clare and Gelane Stock Paxman.

She married Terry Duane Frei on Aug. 16, 1963, in St. George, later to be sealed for all time and eternity in the St. George Temple in 2022.

Spending the majority of her life in her hometown, she developed a true passion for helping people with their family preparedness, doing education and activities for people all over the state, being a self-professed “health missionary” and later in 2008 serving an LDS mission in Fargo, North Dakota. She swore it was proof that our Father in Heaven has a sense of humor, sending a born and raised St. George girl to the cold country.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents Clare and Gelane Paxman; sister Vickie Ann (Clidelle); brother John Clare (Lynda); husband Terry Duane; son Lonny Howard; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. What a joyous reunion awaited her Feb.7.

Laura is survived by her brother Arthur Kelly Paxman (Shana); son Brent Terry Frei; daughter Lisa Dickinson (Robert); three beautiful granddaughters Victoria, Alexandria and Randalyn (Lofton); and four amazing great-grandchildren Jasmine, Aiden, Oliver and Ophelia.
