They were dispatched after a snowmobile crash at around 1:30 p.m. Monday in the remote Dry Lakes area of Brian Head, which is only accessible by snowmobile this time of year. A group of seven Search and Rescue personnel and three sheriff’s deputies went out on snow vehicles of their own to perform first aid for the woman.

“She and her husband were on a machine together, they hit a bump which caused her to lift off the seat and they hit another bump as she was coming back down,” according to a statement from the Iron County Sherrif’s Search and Rescue team.

Authorities said four snowmobiles and a tracked all-terrain vehicle were used to reach the site. Two Gold Cross paramedics also assisted, as well as a small number of local business owners and residents of Brian Head.

The woman was loaded onto a rescue sled and transported to a waiting ambulance in Brian Head.
