According to a recent media release, animal lovers have until the end of this month to double the donation they make to the organization.

Thanks to a generous $30,000 match from Mountain America Credit Union, donations made to the Humane Society of Utah will be matched by the credit union to provide twice the lifesaving veterinary care and will rescue more than 6,000 animals in need this year. To donate and double the contribution, visit the organization’s website.

“Mountain America is honored to help the Humane Society of Utah with its life-saving mission by providing this match to provide critical care to the animals at the shelter,” says Sharon Cook, chief marketing officer at Mountain America Credit Union. “Since 2016, we have partnered with the Humane Society of Utah to help nearly 1,200 pets find their forever homes.”

The Holiday Match Challenge is a fundraising initiative that enables Humane Society of Utah to provide comprehensive care for animals beyond basic shelter services. Donations will be matched until Dec. 31.

Animal care and services provided include advanced veterinary care for sheltered animals, low-cost spay/neuter and vaccines for the community, pet retention, humane education and behavior training programs.

“These programs benefit animals in need throughout Utah and offer a new lease on life to adoptable pets,” Cook said. “This holiday season, we are grateful for the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of these pets and appreciate the community’s support as we all work together to provide critical care and save as many lives as possible.”
