Located in St. George, L’Chef has been the exclusive agent in the United States for small appliances by Bosch, especially their German-made Universal Plus mixer, for 40 years.

“All of the boxes sold in the U.S. and Canada come through this little St. George office right here,” L’Chef President Gary Leavitt said.

The St. George headquarters is also responsible for servicing all of the company’s machines throughout North America. The best news? Due to an overwhelming demand for Bosch mixers and grain mills in Southern Utah, the L’Chef office is now home to an outlet store. And the savings will blow you away.

“We offer sales and service, and we always have certified refurbished machines to save customers a lot of money,” Leavitt said.

In the mixer business, Leavitt said Bosch has been the world’s No. 1 rated mixer, primarily known for breadmaking. There are plenty of differences between Bosch mixers and other leading brands, like its bottom-drive motor with flour speeds and a momentary switch for the ultimate ease of use. Suction cup feet keep this mixer stable during tough jobs of mixing, kneading or whipping. Create any recipe with 20-plus accessories designed specifically for all types of food.

“The largest stand mixer in that category can make about 120 cookies in a batch, while the Bosch mixer can make 408,” he said. “10 pounds of dough in a single knead takes about eight minutes.”

Proof that the mixers stand the test of time, L’Chef’s showroom features a 1952 Bosch mixer, which is still operational.

History of L’Chef

The company originally started as Magic Mill in the early ’70s. Leavitt took over the business in the late ’80s. It now manufactures grain mills and dehydrators, distributes Bosch appliances and manufactures its own kitchen appliances under the brand NutriMill.

While the growth since the company’s beginning has been exponential, Leavitt said it saw the most powerful increase after moving to St. George in 2011.

“We literally have thousands of satisfied Bosch users in the valley,” he added. “We’re into the first and fourth generations of people who have bought Bosch, and then their kids and grandkids and great-grandkids. Generally, once somebody has owned a Bosch, it’s the only one they’ll use in their family.”

Also the exclusive owner and manufacturer of NutriMill, with products that are dedicated to health and well-being, L’Chef’s mission is to create high-quality products that function well and are easy to use. NutriMill appliances are designed to be durable, save customers money and improve healthy eating choices.

Known as the “World’s Greatest Grain Mills,” NutriMill’s Harvest Grain Mill and Classic Grain Mill are both available at L’Chef. These appliances are designed for daily use and are often thought of as wheat flour and bread-making machines, but they also do much more.

They can grind gluten-free grains, beans, lentils and rice, to name a few. Add quinoa flour to thicken soups or sauces, make rice flour for baby food and bread, create your favorite whole-grain cereal with cracked grains, or make delicious brownies with fresh black bean flour.

In addition, L’Chef has an exclusive U.S. agreement to represent Magimix. Their parent company, Robot-Coupe, created the world’s finest electric food processor. Magimix by Robot-Coupe food processors are now found in more than 60 countries worldwide and are known as an indisputable kitchen essential. They are often favored by top chefs, culinary schools, food writers and dedicated home cooks.

Whether you have a kitchen appliance wish list or are ready to gift the baker in your life something they’ll never forget, L’Chef has you covered.
