Utah Tech’s football team (1-3) wraps up a three-game road trip in Fort Collins, Colorado Saturday night against the Colorado State Rams (1-2).

The game marks the third time Utah Tech has faced an NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) opponent since beginning its transition to D-I.

It will also be the first time the Trailblazers have ever met the Rams on the gridiron.

Utah Tech lost to New Mexico State 36-29 two years ago and lost to BYU 52-26 last season in its two previous matchups against FBS opponents.

The Trailblazers are licking their wounds after a 59-14 dismantling by Missouri State last week. The Bears piled up more than 600 yards of total offense in the win.

College football fans around the country are familiar with the Rams after they battled Colorado and coach Deion Sanders in the Rocky Mountain Showdown Sept. 16.

The Rams fell to the Buffalos 43-35 in overtime after losing a fourth-quarter lead. CSU rebounded last week with a 31-23 victory over Middle Tennessee.

Voice of the Trailblazers Rod Zundel will have the call on the live radio broadcast of the game from Fort Collins on The Fan Sports Network at 5 p.m. Saturday.

Elsewhere, Southern Utah University will look to build on the momentum of its first win of the year when the T-Birds (1-3) host Central Arkansas (2-2).

That game kicks off a 6 p.m. Saturday at Eccles Coliseum in Cedar City. It will be the first game in the United Athletic Conference for SUU while Central Arkansas is 1-0 in conference play.
