“It’s an exciting time for Cache Valley Bank,” Southern Utah Area President Will Jones said about the upcoming holiday. “We get to celebrate our heritage. We get to celebrate our customers and our commitment, and we’re just glad to be here to serve the community.”

Cache Valley Bank knows that business can be a rugged, unpredictable adventure. And just like the pioneers before us, they’re forging new trails. Proud to be Utah’s financial outfitter, nobody knows business terrain quite like they do.

Before the pioneers came to the Beehive State, Cache Valley was an economic center for enterprising explorers, trappers and mountain men. The name “Cache” means a place to store valuables, and that’s just what they did in the Cache Valley – secured their goods while coming together to trade and connect.

The Cache Valley Bank difference

Shelly Harris, the bank’s vice president and relationship manager, said while many businesses – and the world – are veering away from human contact, Cache Valley Bank is putting a focus on customer relationships and face-to-face interactions. She added that banking is a relationship business that requires personal interaction.

So as other banks redirect customers to online services and automated phone systems, Jones said they want their customers to know they will always have a place to connect at Cache Valley Bank.

“A lot of the larger banks want you to go online and schedule an appointment on a nameless, faceless screen,” he added. “We expect our customers to want our cellphone numbers, to know them, recognize them and come in or call them and have that personal touch. That’s what sets us apart and how we want to differentiate ourselves.”

In terms of traditional customer compensation for a certificate of deposit, Harris said rates have been so low that banks haven’t been able to compensate appropriately. As rates have risen, it’s given Cache Valley Bank the opportunity to pay or pay back customers for their deposits. In honor of Utah’s 1847 pioneer history and the Days of ’47, this special 18-month CD offer provides a 4.7% APY (no minimum balance required, early withdrawal penalties apply, available through July 31, 2023).

“We just want to celebrate Pioneer Day and give back to our customers,” Jones said. “We thought it was an appropriate way to partner those two together with a great offer on a very competitive CD rate that ties into our commitment to our local heritage and culture.”
