Ann Russell Waters

Oct. 4, 1933-June 10, 2023

In loving memory of our beloved mom, grandma and great grandma — Ann Russell Waters, 89 years young, passed away peacefully in St. George, Utah, June 10, 2023. She was born Oct 4, 1933, in Chicago, Illinois, to James T. Russell and Elizabeth Whiteside Russell.
Ann’s life may have been filled with challenges and triumphs through the years, but they never diminished the person she was nor the impact she had on those around her. She will be remembered for her mighty strength, determination and caring spirit. She will be remembered as the amazing person she was when it came to the love and time  she gave to her family, friends and all who know in everything she did in life.
Ann had a talent when it came to knitting as she made many afghans and slippers for loved ones along with baby blankets for those in need. She was an avid bowler and was in a league for many years. She also had a love for animals and the outdoors, especially the mountains. She loved to explore and visit the national parks that surrounded her. She has passed on that wisdom to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ann will be missed deeply by all who knew her. They will miss her smile, laugh and passion for life. As she would say she is not getting older, she is this many years young as she was young at heart, and it showed in all she did for those who knew her.

Ann is survived by her children: daughter Deanna L Kent (Evans, Georgia), son Edward W. Waters ( St. George, Utah) son Robert W. Waters (St. George, Utah); his girlfriend Mary Ann Hunter along with her two granddaughters Nichole C. Rader Sikes (Travis) Evans, Georgia, and Shana M. Stevenson (Mike) Bakersfield, California; great-grandchildren Madison Smith, Callie, Colby and Elizabeth Stevenson, along with her brother Robert Russell (Chicago, Illinois) and many family friends. Both of her parents preceded her in death.

In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests donations to a charity of your choice. Condolences may be shared on the McMillan Mortuary website.
