New officers named for Color Country Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution

ST. GEORGE — Color Country Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution has officially sworn in their new leadership team for the 2018-2020 term.

The new officers include: Valerie King, Chapter Regent; Norma Martin, Vice Regent; Judy Scott, Chaplin; Janice Hastings, Recording Secretary; Becky Newman-Kjelstrom, Corresponding Secretary; Linda Baldazzi, Treasurer; Sandy Arnold, Registrar, Mazelle Nohr, Historian; and Ami Kulesus, Librarian.

King has been a member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution since 2014 and was Color Country Chapter’s vice regent for the 2016-2018 term.

“Soaring to new heights through our community service is how I want my term as chapter regent to be remembered” said King after assuming her new role. “I am so blessed to have such a strong team to get us there.”

Color Country Chapter, originally founded in 1997 and located in St George, will continue to locally support Wreaths Across America to honor fallen veterans with an added emphasis to honor living veterans by partnering with the local Utah Honor Flight team.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is a nonprofit, nonpolitical volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history and securing America’s future through better education. The organization’s motto is God, Home and Country. The organization is currently 185,000 members strong with over 3,000 chapters nationwide and internationally.

Any woman 18 years or old who can prove lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence is eligible to join the organization. For more information contact colorcountrychapter@gmail.com or visit the website.
