Mesquite Fire Rescue offers ‘Vial Of Life’ program

MESQUITE – Mesquite Fire and Emergency Services is proud to announce we are now actively participating in the Vial of Life program. This valuable service allows people to place lists of medications, medical history, and other vital medical documents in a location that is easy to find by Paramedics in a time of Emergency.

The Vials of Life are tall medication bottles with red VIAL OF LIFE stickers on the bottle and include an extra sticker in the bottle that can either be put on the refrigerator or the front door to let paramedics know to look for the vial when they arrive. The enclosed forms are meant to be filled in by the patient and can save valuable time and effort in an emergency trying to gather information needed to properly treat the medical emergency.

The Vial of Life program in Mesquite has been organized by Firefighter/Paramedic Spencer Lewis and was made possible by a generous donation from Smiths Food and Drug.

We have thousands of vials to distribute! They are available at the Smiths Pharmacy, Mesquite FIre Headquarters at 3 John Deere Dr. and Mesquite Fire Station 1 located behind City Hall at 10 E. Mesquite Blvd. We are also trying to keep them available on our rescue units.

The men and women of Mesquite Fire and Emergency Services strongly encourage all of our residents to take part in this program. Help us help you!

Thank You

Kash Christopher, Chief
