Human trafficking safety training with Utah Attorney General at Southern Utah University

CEDAR CITY — The Human Rights Advocates Club at Southern Utah University is co-sponsoring an awareness, prevention and safety training about human labor and sex trafficking Thursday. The safety training will feature keynote speakers from the special investigations and public corrections unit of the Utah Attorney General’s Office, and SUU Chief of Police, Rick Brown.

Nate Mutter of the AG’s office will educate the public on the extent of human trafficking (modern slavery) here in Utah. Michelle Bush Upwall of the AG’s office will educate the public on the risk of human trafficking to their families through multiple online sites and phone apps. She will educate on child/teen safety and how we can all help prevent human trafficking in our state.

Chief Rick Brown of SUU Police will educate on the extent of sexual assault/sexual exploitation on the SUU campus and how we can all take steps to prevent rape.
