Aspiring high school artists host gallery reception, Easter egg hunt

ST. GEORGE — ARTe Art Gallery is hosting an art reception and sale for six local high school artists. The students are Emily Schumacher, Desiree Johnson, Cadie Andrew, Haley Larsen, Ashley Bylillie, and Calvin Blanchard. The artists, who currently attend Tuacahn and Desert Hills high schools, have chosen to donate a portion of their sales to support the Family Support Center.

There are various ways the public can help in assisting the Family Support Center through this event. The artist reception will be Thursday, April 6 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at ARTe Gallery, 415 S. Dixie Drive, St. George. There will be refreshments, prizes, and giveaways that evening including a putting contest for prizes. That evening is also the kickoff for the Story Writers contest where 6th through 12th graders can try their writing genius in the attempt to win over $500 in Visa Card rewards. Students register and pick up contest rules Thursday-Saturday at ARTe.

Prizes include artworks, a free commissioned work from artist of your choice, and other valuable items. The student works will remain on display for two weeks at ARTe. The students will donate 25 percent of all sales to the Family Support Center.

On Saturday, April 8 at 11 a.m., there will be an egg hunt for kids 3 to 8 years old. Please join in the fun and help in supporting the arts and supporting a worthy cause.
