Jeanne Frances Campbell

June 29, 1934-June 20, 2024

Jeanne Frances Campbell, beloved by the family, returned to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, June 20, 2024. She was born June 29, 1934, to Marvin Frank Sater and Reva Mae Osborn Sater in Las Animas, Colorado. She was the oldest sibling and had three younger brothers.

Jeanne was a lifelong active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She married her sweetheart and eternal companion, Gerald Richard Campbell, on Oct. 15, 1954, in Eugene, Oregon, at her parents’ home. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Oakland LDS Temple on Jan. 9, 1956.

Gerry and Jeanne raised five children. Her greatest joy was her family. Countless camping trips and lake vacations highlighted a home where love was taught and felt. A love for God and His creations and hard work was instilled in each of her children. Together they have 21 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren.

Jeanne graduated from Franklin High School in 1952. Jeanne and Gerry started their life in the U.S. Air Force and lived all over the United States and Germany. Besides being a wonderful mother and wife, Jeanne had many callings in the church. She and Gerry loved to sing and perform in plays in the church. She was also a Cub Scout leader, and she sold Miracle Maid pans with her husband. Jeanne had many talents. One of them was painting. She painted beautiful oil paintings that we all cherish. She was the perfect example of unconditional love and what we should all strive to be. We always called her our angel on earth but now she is our angel in heaven.

She is survived by her children Robbe D. (Christine) Campbell of St. George, Utah; Shelly (John) Hesch of Phoenix, Arizona; and Jennifer (John) Chapman of St. George, Utah; 21 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Richard Campbell; her parents; and her sons Richard Scott Campbell and Shawn Alan Campbell.

A graveside service will take place Saturday, June 29, at 9 a.m. at the Tonaquint Cemetery, 1777 South Dixie Drive, St. George, Utah. A celebration of life will be the same day from 1-4 p.m. for immediate family.

A very special thank you to Dixie Home Hospice and Beehive Homes of Tonaquint for their unconditional love and services.
