Elvin Charles Jackson

Aug. 29, 1944 — June 19, 2024

Elvin Charles Jackson, 79, passed away in his home on June 19, 2024, near his wife and son-in-law.

He was born Aug. 29, 1944, in Fremont, Utah, on the kitchen table. He married his spouse, Pauline Loucille Jackson, on May 5, 1985, in the Salt Lake City Temple.

Elvin was raised in different parts of Wayne County and spent most of his childhood trailing, fishing, hunting and doing other outdoor activities. Both his parents were strong members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and raised him as such.

All his life, he remained a faithful member of the church, his wife lovingly referred to him as God’s little buddy. In 1965, he served a mission for the church in American Samoa. In 1968, he was drafted into the United States Army and served until 1970, when he was honorably discharged after serving admirably as a platoon Sergeant in the Vietnam War.

Throughout his life, he lived all over Utah, mostly in Fremont, and finally spent his remaining years in Santa Clara. His profession was teaching industrial arts in high school. Many of his favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting, building his home and traveling with his wife and children, eating bologna sandwiches all over North America.

In his later years, he cruised many times and was able to see many different parts of the world, including Europe, South America, the South Pacific, and Antarctica.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline; and his children: Jessi, Tonja, Joshua, Melinda, Phoenix, and Sherice; as well as four sons-in-law: Wade, Adam, Chad, and Steven. He has 17 grandchildren, three living sisters and one living brother. Elvin was preceded in death by his parents, other siblings, and two sons: Dustin and David.
