Verna Jeffs Barlow, age 40, died at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, April 28, 2024, after courageously battling Neuroendocrine cancer for 5 years. She was born to David and Madeline Jeffs on Dec. 21, 1983, in Draper, Utah.
She moved to Southern Utah in her teenage years, where she met Perry Barlow. who then became the love of her life. They married on May 2, 2003 and spent 21 amazing years together. They had 5 beautiful children: Alan, Bernice, MeKell, Kyle and Brinley.
She is also survived by her grandfather Daniel Barlow, mother Madeline and many loving siblings. Verna was preceded in death by her father David Jeffs, mother Susana, and brothers Lorin, Jarred and Guy.
Verna studied aromatherapy to become a healer using oils combined with her knowledge of herbs. She was an educator for her children, homeschooling them through most of their grade school years. Verna lived a very adventurous life full of memories from camping, fishing, hiking, boating, skiing and ATVing.
She lived for her children and made them the center of her world. She was known for her kind and loving nature and being a contributor to her community. Verna was very fearless and took every battle head on. She was a determined and straight forward woman who found a way to achieve anything she set her mind to.
The family would like to send their gratitude to the CNA Hospice company, nurses, doctors, friends and family who were here for Verna throughout her life.
Funeral services will be held at the La Verkin Stake Center, 481 N. Main Street, La Verkin, Utah, on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 1-2:30 p.m. Interment will be at the Hurricane Cemetery after services. A viewing will be Friday, May 10, 2024, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, May 11, 2024, 10 a.m.-12:45 p.m.
