Bygnal Merlin Dutson Passed away on Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, in St. George, Utah, at the age of 87.  He was born August 26, 1929, in Salt Lake City, Utah to George Merlin and Hilda Williams Dutson.

When Bygnal was in third grade his family moved to Lehi, Utah.  There he attended school and graduated in 1947. Following High School, he attended Steven Henagar’s School of Business in Salt Lake City, Utah, receiving an associate’s degree. Bygnal then moved to Phoenix, Arizona and worked for his father, running a Grocery Store. He later distributed newspapers for the Arizona Republic and the Phoenix Gazette then opened Yuma Distributing Service in Yuma, Arizona. Providing all major newspapers to the Southern Arizona residence.    

In 1965 Bygnal relocated to Colorado City, Arizona, and started the Vermillion Cliffs Egg Co. and years later started the Vermillion Cliffs Candy Shop.

Bygnal left behind a beautiful family.

Funeral Services

  • A family viewing will be held Friday, Sept. 30, from 7-9 p.m. at the Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff St., St. George, Utah.
  • A family Graveside service will be Saturday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m. in the Isaac Carling Memorial Park, Colorado City, Arizona.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Spilsbury Mortuary, 435-635-2212.
