Cedar Breaks Wildflower Festival showcases nature for families, visitors

CEDAR CITY- At Cedar Breaks National Monument the annual Wildflower Festival has returned and the meadows have exploded with a diversity of high country wildflowers bursting into full bloom. The festival allows families and visitors a one-of-a-kind Southern Utah mountain experience and a way to beat the summer heat.

Every summer at the monument nature puts on a spectacular display of summer blooms, including kitten tails, aspen bluebells, scarlet paintbrushes, Colorado columbines, little sunflowers and many more.

Attendees can enjoy the stellar Cedar Breaks views, specialist or self-guided hikes and walks. Family-friendly activities such as such flower chalk drawings and flower crafts are available on weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Visitor Center area.

The 2016 Festival is ongoing daily through July 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  A park entrance fee of $5 will be charged for each visitor 16 and older. Fees are paid at the entrance station at Point Supreme.
