Governor orders flags lowered in honor of Memorial Day

SALT LAKE CITY — Utah Gov. Gary R. Herbert has authorized the lowering of the flag of the United States of America and the State of Utah at all state facilities in honor of Memorial Day.

“I join with other Utahns in honoring those who sacrificed everything in order to protect our nation’s freedoms,” Gov. Herbert said. “Jeanette and I extend gratitude to the families of those who have lost loved ones in our country’s service, and recognize that to these fallen heroes we all owe a debt that can never be repaid.”

The flags will be flown at half-staff at all state facilities from sunrise to noon on Mon, May 30, 2016.
