The event — slated to take place May 14 in St. George Town Square — will feature a spicy showdown in red chili, chili verde and salsa competitions, with over $1700 in prize money, trophies, T-shirts and bragging rights. The event will also include other fun activities and entertainment for the whole family.

If you or someone you know makes great chili, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to compete in the “Utah State Chili Cook-Off.” Put together a team, or come as an individual.

The winners of each of the three categories will go on to compete in the International Chili Society national championship.

Entry fees for the Utah State Chili Cook-Off are $35 for red chili entries, $25 for chili verde entries and $15 for salsa entries. A $60 membership to the International Chili Society is required for competitors.
