Dixie’s Adopt-a-Paws: Meet Midnight, Pebbles, Echo; Ivins Animal Shelter

FEATURE — After four months of journeying around Southern Utah and premiering 12 episodes, things have come full circle and we are once again back at the Ivins City Animal Shelter — the location featured in Dixie’s Adopt-a-Paws premiere.

In this installment of St. George News’ very own Dixie’s Adopt-a-Paws, host Kassie Gillette meets with Shelter Director Aggie Smith, who gives us the rundown of the latest adorable critters looking for a new home.

This week, just in time for Halloween, we showcase Midnight, the independent but loving 2-4-year-old black cat who, Smith said, would love to be the only cat in somebody’s house.

Along with the flirtatious feline Midnight, we introduce you to Pebbles, a 3-5 year-old pointer who has a love for kids and staying active. This dog is obedient, would love to find a home somewhere with room to run and play.

We also feature Echo, an Australian-border collie mix, who is smart and loving. Echo would love a place where he could get some consistent exercise, Smith said. He even does great with other dogs.

Earlier this month, Santa Clara City joined Ivins in becoming an official “no kill” city for animals that come to the shelter; and with 19 cats and four dogs taking refuge at the shelter, Smith said the move to keep the animals alive helps drive people to adopt

Ivins Animal Shelter is always in need of donations, such as beds, scoopable litter and Pedigree brand food. All donations can be dropped off at the shelter during open hours.
