5th District Judge receives judicial excellence award

ST. GEORGE — Judge G. Michael Westfall of the 5th District Court serving Beaver, Iron and Washington counties received a Judicial Excellence Award July 31 during the Utah State Bar’s annual conference in Sun Valley, Idaho.

Westfall received the award along with five other Utah judges including 1st District Court Judge Thomas Willmore; 2nd District Court Judge Glen Dawson and Judge Thomas Kay; 3rd District Court Judge Royal Hansen and Judge Todd Shaughnessy; 4th District court Judge David Mortensen and Judge Derek Pullan; and 7th District Court Judge Lyle Anderson.

The award was given by the Bar’s litigation section as a way to recognize district court judges who promote an orderly and civil litigation process and demonstrate exemplary character and competence in performing judicial duties.

The judges were voted on by members of the Bar’s litigation section as a way to recognize Utah’s exceptional jurists.

    Congratulations Judge Westfall! On another note, why is the UTAH State Bar holding on Conference in IDAHO? Are there not any nice places in Utah to hold their conference and spend their money? Traitors to their state, I say.
