ST. GEORGE — Bob Dalley, vice president and CFO of Deseret Power Electric Cooperative will speak at Dixie State University’s Business and Ethics Forum series on Thursday at noon in the Boeing Auditorium, Room 121 of the Udvar-Hazy Business Building on the DSU campus, 225 South 700 East, St. George. All are welcome and admission is free.
Dalley has served as vice president and CFO of Deseret Power since 2008. Prior to his time at Deseret Power, he was senior vice president and CFO with Beneficial Financial Group, and worked as a controller, assistant controller and assistant vice president with PacifiCorp. Dalley earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Brigham Young University in 1978, and completed utility coursework at Stanford University and regulatory coursework at Indiana University.
The forum will wrap up its 2014-15 schedule on April 16, with a presentation by DSU business law and economics professor Travis Seegmiller.
About the Business and Ethics Forum
The semimonthly forum, along with campus’ Institute for Business Integrity, was created by former DSU president Dr. Robert Huddleston in 2006. His goal was to provide a way to integrate ethics into the curriculum, and have the forum serve as a blueprint to ensure that students graduate with a set of ethical tools to help them get along in the professional world.
Huddleston said the business forums will give students – and current and prospective local business owners – an added dose of ethics training that is so sorely needed into today’s business world.
His hope, he said, is that by the time students leave Dixie State they have been exposed to enough ethical cases that, when they get out in the workforce, they will have the wherewithal and the intestinal fortitude to do the right thing, even when their job might be on the line.
