Mozelle Nelson Gordon

GordonMozelle Couple lighterMozelle Nelson Gordon, age 91, crossed over the threshold to begin a new chapter on Monday June 23rd at 2:09 pm in St. George, Utah.

She was born the youngest of four children in Brownsfield, Texas to Louella and Martin Erastus Nelson.  The family migrated to New Mexico while she was still a young child and from there on to northern California at age eleven.  She met and later married Woodrow Wilson Gordon on August 24, 1940.

She loved the outdoors: camping, the mountains and sea, gardening, hiking, and a good story – she was a voracious reader.  Above all else, she loved and cared for her family.

She was widowed in 2003 and is survived by her three daughters: Norma Jeanne (James Wilbur), Shirley Deanna Hoffer, Donna Hamann (John, deceased); her 11 grandchildren; 30 great- grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Her courage for life was most evident in recent years.  She met adversity with superhuman strength.  Her strength of commitment, to be the best she could be, lives on as a model for all who knew her.

Mozelle is and will be profoundly missed by those closest to her and beneficiaries of her unwavering commitment and affection.
