ST. GEORGE – Kids of all ages attended the Virgin River Skimboard Classic in St. George, Saturday, competing for prizes, meeting new friends, and beating the heat. Running for over two decades, the competition is organized by the City of St. George’s recreation division and supported by local, small businesses. “It doesn’t matter how good you are,” Dawn Eide-Albrecht, program coordinator for the city’s recreation division, said. “If you are great, that’s awesome; if you’re not so great it doesn’t matter. We’re just out here to have fun.”

Event organizers encouraged boarders to take care of the skimboarding areas of the river, pick up after themselves, and to ride safe.
